Students and Educators Attend World Affairs Council Luncheon

Students and educators from our Learning for Life Partnership and high schools in our Hess Neighborhood recently attended the World Affairs Council of Greater Houston annual Jesse H. Jones Award Luncheon. The students participated in a private Q&A session with Greg Hill, Hess President and Chief Operating Officer and keynote speaker Kevin McCarthy, House Republican Leader.

For the fifth year in a row, Hess is proud to be a premier sponsor for the annual Recovery Reinvented, hosted by First Lady of North Dakota Kathryn Burgum and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum on November 3 in Grand Forks. The free event will feature encouraging speakers and resources for those on the path to recovery.

Greg Hill Recognized as 2022 International Citizen of the Year

Hess President and Chief Operating Officer Greg Hill received the 2022 International Citizen of the Year Award. The honor is presented to a Houstonian who personifies the World Affairs Council of Greater Houston‘s mission to promote an exchange of ideas and perspectives to cultivate a deeper understanding of the world.

Hess Sponsors SPE Offshore Field Trip for Houston Students

Hess recently sponsored a field trip to the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig Museum and Education Center in Galveston for students from the Edison Middle School in Houston. The visit was part of the Society of Petroleum Engineers’ (SPE) STEM outreach program designed to interest youth in a career in the oil and gas industry. Edison is one of 22 schools we support through the Hess Learning for Life program in underserved communities near Hess Tower.

Hess Invests $12 Million in North Dakota Tribal College System Apprenticeship Fund

Hess is proud to support development of a new apprenticeship program with the North Dakota Tribal College System to improve educational and employment opportunities for Native Americans in North Dakota. Over the next four years, Hess will invest $12 million and partners Halliburton and Nabors Industries will each invest $1 million to provide tuition assistance, stipends and other support for establishing apprenticeships in a variety of industries based on the local job market and needs of tribal communities.

Hess Sponsors Houston Energy Day

Hess is a proud sponsor of Energy Day, Houston’s largest family festival showcasing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and providing opportunities for students to interact with STEM experts to help spark an interest in these careers. On October 15, Hess will provide bus transportation to and from the event for students and families in Houston’s Second and Third Wards.

Hess Supports Hometown Heroes Program in North Dakota

Hess proudly supports the Hometown Heroes Program and Buckaroos 4-H Club in Powers Lake, North Dakota through the North Dakota State Fair Foundation 4-H and FFA Club Grant Program. Over twenty banners were hung to honor past and present members of the Armed Forces that live or have lived in the small town.

Hess Malaysia Supports Underserved Residents

Hess Malaysia recently supported a community investment program for the residents of PPR Sri Pantai in Kuala Lumpur. The initiative by the Royal Thai Embassy, in collaboration with Persatuan Lestari Alam Malaysia and the University of Malaya, is to educate the PPR residents on the importance of sustainable agriculture practices. Over seventy participants joined Zhiyong Zhao, Hess Vice President Asia, to plant trees and beautify the grounds.
